(no subject)

4:40am. Cannot sleep. Wrote copy all night long. Plan to photograph the update in the am, 77 items. Lots I'm really excited and proud of.

...but cannot sleep. Tried drinking wine. Am now drunk, but not particularly sleepy.

Watched more X-Files. STILL not sleepy, even though Duchovny can't act his way out of a paper bag and Scully's monotone, under normal circumstances, knocks me right out.

Cannot get the Misfits theme song out of my head. All of the episodes are up on Hulu for free, so I mainlined them this week. Every time we're watching together, J DIVES for the closed captioning button whenever Kelly starts speaking. It's fucking hysterical.

Also watched up to the end of S6 of Supernatural. Man, the 4th wall is not even a concept for these people.

I am sorry I've not had particularly deep thoughts here of late-- I've literally been working 12-14 hour days in the studio and focusing my energy there. All of my political rants are on Facebook, mostly because I enjoy needling my racist relatives over there. Though my father did surprise the fuck out of me by liking a link I posted about why conservative Christian rants on being 'persecuted' by a culture increasingly in favor of LGBT rights is bullshit. Wonders, they never do cease.

Oh! Anybody else watch Oddities on the Science Channel? I was heading to a party in Silver Spring on Sunday and I looked over-- Evan was crossing the street right next to me. It honestly took me about 30 seconds to place how I knew her face, because I know (and love!) a lot of strange people that "marginal celebrity" didn't cross my mind until it was far too late. Hunh.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I AM BOTH DRUNK AND WIRED AT 4:53 AM? Usually wine puts me right out. I need to find Olive. Her purr is a fool-proof TKO, I sweartogod.

I finally finished writing copy and got to bed around 5:30 am last night. Was up and at 'em by 10:15, starting the photography for the update. In general, just photographing takes about 4-5 hours. For this update, it took 6. After that comes photo-editing, which is basically going through all the photos (1,000+) selecting 3-5 for each necklace and 2-3 for each pair of earrings. Cropping, color-correcting, renaming so they're easy to locate when updating. Since I've been using Jason's more recent version of photoshop than my ANCIENT copy of Photoshop 7, I managed to do all of that in about 4 hours where it would otherwise have taken me about 6. (My new camera also helps here, since my pictures aren't coming out blue to begin with.) I worked for about a solid 11 hours today on the update, and took quick meal breaks as well as a break to discuss repair assignments with a local jeweler, who dropped by to pick up completed work and drop off new things.

After writing for 5 hours last night, and now all of this, my hands are crampy and sore. Rather than put myself through the torture of 3 hours of updating tonight, I'm calling it. I want tea and nutella and a kitty cat, okay? Update will be tomorrow night, beginning approximately 7pm Eastern.
