Serious question
May. 19th, 2004 01:20 pmI will be starting serious work on my first novel in the next two weeks.
It's working title is The Glimmering, and it's a Young Adult novel based on the tale of Tam Lin. You got some morally gray faeries, a heroine, and a hero-type who has been locked away in a timeless alternate world/ faerie wood for many years.
I want to create a small filter of willing eyes for critique and overall reaction. The feedback thing is kind of critical to me. I'll be asking questions about characters and plot as well as writing quality.
If you're willing to lend me your eyes, please comment. The first draft of the opening chapter will be posted about a week after I return to campus, somewhere in the second week of June.
You up for it?

Tam: *smirks* Time to time? You don't notice nearly enough.

Date: 2004-06-09 06:19 am (UTC)I'd be interested in reading your novel. I got here through Holly's LJ. I tend to be good at picking up syntax, context, grammar, etc. as well as word choices. I'm happy to comment on overall works/doesn't work why, but obviously that requires a bit of discussion on what you're trying to achieve in total and how various scenes fit into that. At any rate, let me know:
