This is gross. Just so you know.
Dec. 28th, 2004 01:01 pmHello to everyone I was supposed to say hello to in the past week. I don't have much time, so I'm thinking fast.
Knocking on wood, the only two people I know who have not been ridiculously sick in the past week are my sister & I. I've had quite the week. My mother's been sick, with all of the simpering that entails, as well as three of my siblings, my cat, Mike & his family, cousins, aunts, and uncles. By sick, I do not mean garden variety head cold. I was woken at 2am by a sick cat, mostly because his... smell woke me up. Then, at 7am, my brother Matt was in a panic and yelling for me. There was a five foot river of vomit and blood on the floor where he didn't make it to the bathroom in time. My parents were already at work, so after I took care of him and he had the earliest possible appointment with a doctor settled, I began to clean up. It was, quite frankly, the largest quantity of vomit I have ever seen, and considering I've lived around frat boys for the past three years, that's saying something. Luckily, this seems to be a 48 hour bug at most.
Matt's on his way to see a medical specialist at the moment, and I've been compulsively mopping, so the house, in addition to being approximately 40 degrees, smells like a mixture of vomit and Pine Sol. Then Mike called-- he and his parents have been equally as sick. Considering that doctors have confirmed that I have the weakest immune system of us all, I'm wondering why I've been spared. Probably because I've also been compulsively slathering myself with antibacterial soap.
And every time I see the tsunami update, I start crying. I need to avoid CNN for awhile.
I don't know if I'll be having dinner with
bellybalt as expected tonight, but if I don't, he's still got to stop by to pick up the cookies I baked for him.
belladonnastrap and I will probably do coffee on Friday morning in the Inner Harbor, and I'm excited about that. I also have a Victoria's Secret giftcard to splurge, so that might also be a Friday activity.
And jesus. The credit card bill. Not so much the bill as my running total. Almost $300. I'm not freaking, though. I don't have to pay it all at once, and I have $225 in checks anyhow, with a paycheck coming in on Thursday. It's just a matter of getting to the bank to deposit them. I just want to get it done. Christmas is a ginormous moneytrap, and I only bought for my family and roomies! :)
Random notes::
diehard_fool:: I didn't know you were going to Maine, so I sent something to your home address. So it should have gotten there yesterday. Oi.
obsessedmuch:: I have something small for you that it completely slipped my mind to send out before Christmas. I'll mail it on Monday, k?
frozenstarfish:: I know you're still disoriented from Glasgow. I don't know what your plans are for next week, but I'm mostly free, except for the 7th. I have presents for you, which I conveniently left in Westminster. You should come up and spend a night.
pawsfurme:: Bridge, we're still on for the 7th, and I even have a skirt now. I'll probably need shoes though, because I doubt you'll be able to teach me to swing in 3" heels. And a massage sounds awesome. You can stay the night if you'd like-- it's up to you.
Okay. If there are any problems, email me or call me on my cell.
I'll be in Westminster on Sunday night.
