I'm in an unusually good mood. I think it's the weather.

Last night, I went to a Russian music concert-- Kyle sang a cycle of Rachmaninov art songs. Then there was his Elegia trio-- so dark and lovely. By the time I left, the sky was darkening to an electric blue, and the grass was pungent and sweet.

The one damper is once again that French class. I got a A-/B+ (huh?) on my last paper. The reason? Comment on page 2: "If you're going to introduce this point, please explain it more fully." Comment on page 6: "This paper was overlong- you wrote two more pages than I asked for. Please try stay within the assigned length next time." Okay. Woman? You're off your damn rocker. Also? I got docked half a letter because I said that the Yorubas were from Niger, not Nigeria, in passing.

I slept well last night-- for almost nine hours. It was that kind of restful, rejuvenating sleep that I practically bounced out of bed. And my classes are all light and interesting today-- added bonus of Angel tonight. And then I feel icon-fever coming on. Probably Dune, maybe some Kill Bill. And maybe some flowers.

Yep. I've got voice next. 'Til later...

This is such a good idea.

Download some music! Right-click save-as. These will be up for 7 days or 100 downloads, whichever comes first. Also, a few of these are .wmv extensions, which means they naturally open in media player (I ripped them from my own CDs)-- but I've found that they also open in WinAMP. If you're having issues downloading, try again later-- the site gets busy. But if no one can download, let me know.

--Cocteau Twins: Blue Bell Knoll. Very ethereal. It's the soundtrack in my head to the novel I'm writing.

--Azam Ali: Inama Nushif (Children of Dune OST). I'm a big Dune head, and Miss Ali's voice is so haunting and gorgeous. Good for those who like a world-music kind of thing.

--Delerium feat. Mediaeval Baebes: Aria. I describe this as "Rainbow Brite meets CRACK." It's poppy, happy electronica, and in middle English!

--k's Choice: My Favourite Adventure. I nicked this one from [livejournal.com profile] evergleam83. It's so sweet.

--G Love & Special Sauce: Gimme Some Lovin'. This was on my 6 month anniversary disc, way back when. It still puts a smile on my face for the better part of a day.

---Matchbox Twenty: Time After Time. A live cover of the Cyndi Lauper tune. I like to sing this one out loud.

--Fisher: I Will Love You. If you haven't heard this, you absolutely must. Be forewarned: It has been known to make the most stoic (read: me) weepy.

--Outkast (Andre 3000) feat. Norah Jones: Take Off Your Cool. A nice jazzy little tune from The Love Below.

--David Gray: If Your Love is Real. This is a song with a lot of meaning to me. It's absolutely beautiful.

--Marcy Playground: She's Comin' Up From Behind. A very icon-able tune. It reminds me of Lilah.

This is really cool. We should do this more often.

So. I'm not going to do a big review of tonight's Angel. But in the spirit of the geektastic fangirl that I am...

Hamilton, you dash my dreams! )

And, oh-- GIP. Cap and concept from [livejournal.com profile] jennyo. Since I basically copied her, I'd say it's shareable.
