Pretties, hairs, etc.
Jul. 28th, 2011 09:39 pmYAAAAY LJ. NEVER LEAVE ME AGAIN!
This week was spent crafting the last few bits and bobs before I start working on the Autumn collections in earnest. So this time, I have a small batch that's the start of my Wayfarer Collection in fine silver, as well as some smaller labradorite pieces.

( A few more. )
Though, truth be told, I've already started working on a few things for the Autumn updates...

I also got my hairs did yesterday, at a salon in Hampden, Sprout. They're a salon that uses organic products, but the draw for me was a) I have heard EXCELLENT things about their customer service, and b) they don't use ammonia in their dyes. Considering I was considering plunking down $$$ for my first salon experience since my meh one, which was last year, I wanted reasonable assurance that it would be a good and fun experience for me.
My stylist was Julie. She was friendly, listened to what I wanted, and liked that I was decisive and able to articulate what I wanted, with photo references. The experience was chill but chatty. I love the cut she did, and she spent time showing me how to get nice waves in my hair. The only downside is that the organic color that she used did not turn out on my hair at all how the swatch looked. I picked a light copper red-- very very saturated copper red almost bordering on orange. I got this:

Which is pretty, right? But it's not what we decided on. She did offer to give me a free brightening wash next week, but I think I'm gonna wait until my next appointment and get bright copper highlights put in instead. I want to look like a rustling autumn tree when I shake my head.
( More pics. )
And now I have to go bang out some faerie wings. I would then like to sprawl out on the couch and have a Daniel Day Lewis appreciation festival, thankyouverymuch.
ETA: This post was written yesterday, but I couldn't post it. I since have slaked my DDL thirst with Last of the Mohicans and had a lovely dinner out with
roxyoi301 and little baby Connor.
