Aug. 10th, 2004 02:13 amToday has been a good day. By the way, I missed saying that. I'm still having hyper-paranoid moments where I check my purse over and over again to make sure my wallet's still in there, but my general security panic is easing. Call it retail therapy if you would like, but today, I got both Waking Hour and Warm Strangers by Vienna Teng and The Prayer Cycle by Jonathan Elias, plus a George W. Bush pin that states "Like a ROCK... only dumber" for under $25. Long live Record & Tape Traders. Not only that, but Heather and I are doing a CD swap, so I will also be getting a Ryan Adams CD and the soundrack to Garden State just as soon as she gets her grubby little mitts on it. In all honesty, hopefully I will be able to offer up samples of The Prayer Cycle to you all so you can gape at the pretty.
And by the by... Garden State was quite good. Very well acted, even by bit players, and 95% of the script was well done. It was also quite funny, and I have a new respect for Zach Braff. Is that how you spell his name? I never watch Scrubs. Ian Holm was a bit wasted, but this was a film so visually beautiful that it's hard to gripe about anything. Very touching, and I'd certainly recommend it. It's not playing anywhere around here, though. We had to go to Bethesda to see it.
It is late, and I must work for ResLife in the morning. Liz, the head of the department, is out on maternity leave, as she's gonna pop any day now. And Bobbi, the secretary I work with, just had hand surgery, so I will be doing the majority of the data entry and filing in the weeks to come. Seeing as I'd do just about anything for Bobbi, it shouldn't be too bad.
In short: pretty music, pretty movie, pretty tired. The end.
