It's not the class. It's only the second day, and I'm going light for once and only taking 14.5 credits per week. It's the jobs in conjunction. It's book rush, and everyone at the bookstore is running around like chickens with our heads cut off.

All in all, yesterday went well. I was able to schedule a decent time with my voice teacher, and Dr. Mary is largely letting us format our own syllabus in her Faulkner class. She needs to slow her speech-- the woman was like a chipmunk on crack. I could barely understand her. But it looks as if we're leaving out Snopes, which is nice. Quality over quantity. Plus I got to return a $25 book. Yay poster money.

I switched my French class from Conversation & Composition to French Literature 3301 because the intermediate class was too intermediate. I would have been bored silly, and I wanted more of a challenge. Plus, this earns me mad brownie points with Motard Noar, who may or may not eventually be a recommendation go-to person.

Madrigals looks fun if not a tad dorky, but singing always helps me in times of stress. I'm doing solo voice plus two choirs this semester. So yay for singing about "My bonnie lass, she smelleth."

Today, I have regular choir plus Women, Food, and Identity-- my under-represented requirement for my English major. Basically, my teacher wrote her thesis on African American women and fried chicken, and then expanded that into an entire class. It's right before dinnertime-- I'm going to get so fat this semester.

And work. Work work work bookrush bladdy. Is it wrong that I might hide a copy of The Vagina Monologues because I want it cheaper and used? Hmm. Moral quandary. :)

And ow, my leg is a mess. Sometimes, one of my nervous tics is scratching. Well, it just so happens that in one spot, I scratched a big angry red mark that hurts every time I touch it. It looks almost like a burn. I'm not the brightest bulb sometimes.

Okay. Food. Work. Class. Sing. Die. In that order.

Sort of like Foamy from IllwillPress? :)

>>Okay. Food. Work. Class. Sing. Die. In that order.

Good strategy.

Actually, you should wait a week or two on the Vagina Monologues thing, because Becky only ordered enough for the number of people in her class, and already people have come in and the books have been out and Kyle had to order more. If no one comes in for them later, you should go for it, though.

There's a book called Blood, Bread and Roses: How Menstruation Created the World

It's a very involving read (if long and rambling) but it might help with Women, Food, and Identity. If you need it but don't want to spend the $, I think I've still got my copy around somewhere (not sure though. i got rid of a lot of stuff when i moved).

....go ahead. Die all you want. We'll just make an endless procession of Christina-gholas. :) It all fits the God Emperor's plan!

Is Margie really doing the Bonnie lass thing again? Wow. I'm sure half of the stuff you're doing this year is stuff I've done with her. She likes repeats.

My Behavioural Psyc class starts at noon and our lecturer always talks about food as a reinforcer, mentioning chocolate and specific types of food. I have two hours of class after that one with no breaks and by the end of that class I've starving.

The Women, Food and Identity has me interested... is it cultural based, psychological issues, or a bit of both?

It's cultural at the moment-- I just found out that its focus is diasporic women. So-- lots of Jewish, Hispanic, and Af-Am lit.

I found you through efface's journal. You are AMAZINGLY beautiful. You've got incredible eyes and your probably one of the few women I've ever seen with a beauty mark that actually made them look better. But I thought I should say hello since I was adding you =)

Thank you for the compliments! I've been running short on time this week, but hopefully I'll get to know you via comments and have a chance to check out your journal soon!

Fun and dorky... that is so the right way to describe Madrigals. It makes me reminiscent and sad to know that you're probably one of the only people in that group that I know. Wonder if she recruited any awkward freshman boys?

Just thought I'd advise you that [livejournal.com profile] shewrote was irritated that I deleted her post in [livejournal.com profile] witchy_reads about recommendations for self-help books because it was off-topic. She posted her irritation publicly, and clarified that she meant PAGAN self-help book recommendations. I told her it was still off-topic; that we were about REVIEWS of WITCHCRAFT books, not recommenders. Since I'm not on as much on the weekends, keep an extra eye out for any further pissiness.
