Renaissance Festival??

So, my dad called me to say that he wants to buy me two tickets to the MD Renfest for my birthday. As much as I want to go on my birthday (Scottish weekend-- I love me a man in a kilt), I'm thinking later might be better, since I'll be busy all day.

I'm thinking of either October 9/10 (Romance Weekend) or October 16/17 (Shakespeare Weekend).

So, discuss amongst yourselves. Who's up for a trip on either of those days?

I have a friend who keeps IMing me about going during Scottish weekend, but I keep telling him it's your birthday and I'd have to talk to find out what we're doing.

Although, if you really do want to go on Scottish weekend, it's both Saturday and Sunday, so we could go.

Personally, I'd rather go on Shakespeare weekend. :)

God, Scottish weekend would be a blast, but I won't have the time or energy. Saturday, I'll be getting off duty at 2am, having lunch with my dad, having dinner with my mom, and then we're all going out. Sunday, I will probably have the hangover/muscle ache of doooooom. Ans Shakespeare seems to be the consensus. :)

ROFL I'm asked every night I wear it out. After 3-4 drinks (Guinness, of course), I generally just show. It's easier that way.

EEEE! I went to the RenFest last year on Scottish weekend, it was FANTASTIC! Its my favourite weekend to go. Lots of pipes, kilts, sexy (and really bad) accents... they actually had a guy from the Royal Scottish Highlander's Brigade (or whatever they are called) there touristing around.

I'd pick the Shakespeare weekend, if it were me. Romance weekend is kinda EH for me, too much like Valentine's day (which I am not much for, even when I am in a relationship).

I went last weekend - but I could be persuaded to go on either weekend. Romance weekend would be cool.

I would of course have to drag sicarii along too. I suspect going to Ren Faire alone on Romance weekend would be grounds for a place in the doghouse.

Meeting a girl (or girls), accompanied by boyfriends or not, off lj to boot at said renfest would simply be suicide.

Pick a weekend and I'll see if I can coordinate if you're interested in having such relatively unknown people to you tag along.
