Sep. 26th, 2004 08:38 pmI have to write my Faulkner paper now. I've been procrastinating dreadfully. I think I need a mug of hot chocolate before I can even begin.
My weekend went as well as can be expected from Saturday on. Saturday was Jamie's wedding shower, and I managed to hold little Jake for a full 20 minutes before "ew icky slimy baby!" feelings set in-- so I'm guessing that my whole child phobia is slowly easing up. Turns out that my cousin Chuck will be accompanying me for wedding music, so I don't have to find something acappella to perform at the wedding-- the chosen music will be voice & guitar. Chuck, being the bride's brother, knows all her musical tastes, so I'm more or less going to let him pick the song, and, privided it's in my range, just learn it by ear. I'd also like to note that my stepdad, Adrian, picked me up on his Harley-- so I got to enjoy a 45 minute bike ride all the way back to Baltimore.
My digital camera broke Saturday morning-- all of the pictures were horribly fuzzy. Best Buy occasionally has a good policy, and I was given a 3.2 MP camera, an upgrade from my 2.0, completely free. So, I'm incredibly grateful that the guy who sold me my old camera was incredibly pretty, and I was too busy drooling to say no to the $40 service plan.
And oh my god, one of my roomates is murdering On My Own in the next room.
I played fish doctor this afternoon-- my friend's betta fishie was all floating lopsided and twitching. I brought over the meds and honestly, it looks like a combo of internal parasites and swim bladder. She'd been feeding only bloodworms, which makes either scenario completely likely. I medicated w/ Macaryn 1 & 2, then gave her some pellets to feed after he starts moving a little more. The poor guy looked awful, just kind of floating, then spazzing, then floating some more. I saw no fungus or velvet, so I guess that's good at least.
And for those on my friends' list, this is more or less "speak now or forever hold your peace" on the travelling journal idea. Slots are filling quickly! I'm going to give it about 24-48 hours before finalizing the list, and then setting up a filter. I'm going to need everyone's approximate location in one post so I can plan a course-- I'm thinking a big loop around the US, then across to the UK, then back to me. So, if you want to do it, comment soon!
Bah. Paper.

Date: 2004-09-26 11:07 pm (UTC)It just pisses me off that I loved that song for years before people even knew what it was, and then all of a sudden, every girl who thinks she has an ounce of talent goes and sings it...much to my dismay.
Wow, can you tell I'm bitter??? *giggles*
Oh well, I've moved on to bigger and better songs.
And it's awesome that you were a fishie doctor. You are teh awesome!
