I won a bottle of Snake Oil! Now I need to get my greedy little mitts on a bottle of Sin, and I will be the happiest (and best smelling) girl in all the land! I ended up paying about $7 more than I expected, but it's worth it when you consider my overall price is about how much the cost would be straight from the lab, only with a 6 week wait. The auction really came down to the wire, and whaddya know, my computer gave out 10 minutes to the end! I ran to the library, where I am now, and refreshed like crazy. I won by less than 10 seconds. Ahh, the thrills of eBay.

I haven't really had the opportunity to write a real entry in awhile. I'm beginning to see my joule counter racking up more in the unfriended column. People probably think I'm dead or uninterested, considering I haven't really been able to comment a whole lot. Hopefully, by this weekend, my documents will be transferred to the temporary computer and the ethernet connection will be activated. Mike and I were supposed to do that tonight, but he's terribly sick, the poor guy. So hopefully, by Monday, everything will be resolved and I can have my photoshop back. I regret not being able to make Autumn icons. Well, now that I have the time to speak at leisure, I've been meaning to mention one of the most beautiful sights I've seen in a while.

Renfest went very well. I dressed up in a sage green gown with a white undergarment, laced together with green ribbon. I had a garland of flowers in my hair. Mike took a picture, and hopefully, I'll be able to update with it sooner rather than later. There were amazing vendors-- fantasy jewelry, elaborate candles and costumes. The food was amazing-- anyone with any sense knows that you go to Renfest at least partially
for the food. I had a big turkey leg, raspberry wine, sinful chocolate cake, and delicious roasted nuts with a candied cinnamon and sugar glaze. I also sampled the toiletries. Though the spiced cream was delicious, it was a bit too pricey for my taste, and so I did buy some lovely macintosh lotion that makes my skin smell like fresh apples. I got some cedarwood bayberry soap as well as a tea strainer and a few sticks of wax sealant for letters. I hope to get a pentacle sealer soon, but until then, I will use my trusty fleur de lis. The atmosphere was beautiful-- it warmed up for most of the day, and there were lords and ladies and knights and fairies all running around beneath an autumnal canopy.

It unexpectedly began to pour and hail at about 6pm, and there was a mad rush for the gates. Mike had to get going, and so I headed home with Noble, Heather, and Rac. The sun came out just as suddenly as the rain had started, just as we passed a clearing of trees. It was late afternoon sun, that gorgeous thick sunlight that covers the ground in honey hues. The trees were the golden-yellow of the harvest, and as the sun hit them, they glowed a rich amber. Just then, Heather pointed out the clearest, most gorgeous rainbow that I've ever seen. It' was so crystal clear, so saturated with color, and it made a perfect arc in the air from the clearing all the way to the other side of the road. It was an absolute marvel, and I won't forget it anytime soon.

I'm glad you had a good time at Renfest. I like being able to dress up for these things, and am still constantly amazed at how many people actually do dress up for it.

Glad you had a good time, Auden :) I knew before I ever expressed an intrest in going to this festival that I would be away at a game or some battle of the bands. We played the last two songs of the fifth quarter in the rain and we were on the way home when the hail came down. I was half asleep when I saw the rainbow and I swore I was dreaming. Perhaps I'll be able to attend the festival next year.

love you

Angel
