Now that that paper is over with, I feel so much more calm. It's only Tuesday, which is kind of a downer, but in the plus side, I got my first BPAL order and my swap with one forumite yesterday. I currently smell like a cinnamon stick, and it's spicy and lovely. Also? Samhain is lovely, Queen of Spades makes me feel happy, and Scherezade is such a sexy nighttime scent. A few of my imps disagreed with me when sniffed (Aureus smells much heavier and cedar-y than expected, Unseelie smells like soap), but I guess I'll see for sure when I test them on my skin. I updated my BPAL post with a couple of more reviews, with more to come over the week.

In other news, I've been reading Isabel Allende's Aphrodite lately, and really liking it. It's part memoire, part cookbook, part paen to the sensual uses of food. It's a luscious piece of writing, a perfect companion to the aprhodisiac cookbook that [livejournal.com profile] bellybalt sent me around my birthday. In fact, I think I may be using both books in my term paper for one of my classes. I think I'll be writing on food & sensuality, incorporating movies like Chocolat...

The madrigals performance last night went well enough. The acoustics of the room were so dead that we had to really struggle to hear each other, but not a whole lot was noticible. Plus, we harmonized with kazoos! Okay, so we're a bit odd as madrigal troupes go.

So, I got home, and watched Van Helsing, which was, quite frankly, one of the worst movies I have ever seen, hands down. Rac and I mocked it mercilessly because it was so so bad. The kind of bad where the director needs to be whacked with a cattle prod bad. We're watching The Day After Tomorrow tonight to continue the trend, and I will be making chicken & dumplings in my ongoing effort to occasionally mimic a domestic goddess (in heels). Also? I had incredible sex last night. Fabulous, really. Just felt the need to get that off my chest.

Okay. Time for RA evaluations in which I will inevitably be told "You're a great RA, your residents love you, but if you don't start turning paperwork in on time, I will kill you myself!" Cheerio!

scent and food... two of the sexiest things around...

I think I'll go put on my pomegrante and plum now that I think about it...

I wish I could smell of your new scents from here.

Pomegranates are delicious. You should get a coupla BPAL oils then, they're pretty reasonably priced, and amazing. When I get my next order, I'll decant you a few sents and send samples your way.

Hey, I was talking to one of the shop owners at faire this week-end, and he mentioned that they do free samples for their oils (up to 8). I love their stuff, so thought I'd pass along the info:

...THANK YOU! So many people I talk to here think it was awesome. I think it gets worse the more time passes after you see it. Even Faramir's comic relief role didn't help. And what's with everyone swinging in that movie? Tarzan doesn't swing that much...

ok, end rant... :)

Okay, at the risk of being spoilerish-- people *bounce* off of brick, fall long distances, and defy gravity... and are killed by... it doesn't make SENSE.

If you thought Van Helsing was bad, watch Paycheck. It was so horrible, my friends and i decided to watch again and do shots everytime there was a dialog or continuity error, everyone but two of us passed out halfway through the movie.

Have you read "Like Water for Chocolate" by Laura Esquivel?

I have it, but have not yet read it. I haven't had a whole lot of free reading time. :)

Thursday, I'm busy, and I don't really have anything special in my fridge, either. We could pick a few recipes on Thursday night 9-ish, then actually make it after we go grocery shopping. :)

I sooo knew Vand Helsing was gonna suck, thanks for confirming that for me. Sorry you had to be the guinea pig, but as soon as I saw the preview, I KNEW all it was merely an excuse to get Kate Beckinsale into her "corseted rubber/vinyl" look. It all started with Underworld, and its a fantastic look for her, but not if the 2 hours surrounding the look suck ASS. At least the Disney movie has an excuse for being corny and stupid - its a DISNEY MOVIE!

ANd I'm glad you like the cookbook. :) *mwah*

The costumes only added to the preposterousness. I'm thinking if I'm going to go hunt a big, deadly beastie, a TIGHT leather corset and high heels is NOT going to cut it. Even Buffy couldn't get away with that.

I do hope this did not come as a surprise.

I expected it to be cheesy, but overall a decently-enjoyable popcorn flick. But whoa, was I not prepared for it's true awesomeness of bad.
