Smooth sailing.
Nov. 9th, 2004 01:50 pmNow that that paper is over with, I feel so much more calm. It's only Tuesday, which is kind of a downer, but in the plus side, I got my first BPAL order and my swap with one forumite yesterday. I currently smell like a cinnamon stick, and it's spicy and lovely. Also? Samhain is lovely, Queen of Spades makes me feel happy, and Scherezade is such a sexy nighttime scent. A few of my imps disagreed with me when sniffed (Aureus smells much heavier and cedar-y than expected, Unseelie smells like soap), but I guess I'll see for sure when I test them on my skin. I updated my BPAL post with a couple of more reviews, with more to come over the week.
In other news, I've been reading Isabel Allende's Aphrodite lately, and really liking it. It's part memoire, part cookbook, part paen to the sensual uses of food. It's a luscious piece of writing, a perfect companion to the aprhodisiac cookbook that
bellybalt sent me around my birthday. In fact, I think I may be using both books in my term paper for one of my classes. I think I'll be writing on food & sensuality, incorporating movies like Chocolat...
The madrigals performance last night went well enough. The acoustics of the room were so dead that we had to really struggle to hear each other, but not a whole lot was noticible. Plus, we harmonized with kazoos! Okay, so we're a bit odd as madrigal troupes go.
So, I got home, and watched Van Helsing, which was, quite frankly, one of the worst movies I have ever seen, hands down. Rac and I mocked it mercilessly because it was so so bad. The kind of bad where the director needs to be whacked with a cattle prod bad. We're watching The Day After Tomorrow tonight to continue the trend, and I will be making chicken & dumplings in my ongoing effort to occasionally mimic a domestic goddess (in heels). Also? I had incredible sex last night. Fabulous, really. Just felt the need to get that off my chest.
Okay. Time for RA evaluations in which I will inevitably be told "You're a great RA, your residents love you, but if you don't start turning paperwork in on time, I will kill you myself!" Cheerio!

Date: 2004-11-09 11:42 am (UTC)...THANK YOU! So many people I talk to here think it was awesome. I think it gets worse the more time passes after you see it. Even Faramir's comic relief role didn't help. And what's with everyone swinging in that movie? Tarzan doesn't swing that much...
ok, end rant... :)
