I went to bed at 1am. I actually fell asleep close to four. I kept having bizarre waking dreams, punctuated by harsh coughing fits. My throat is so sore right now. I'm popping Ricola like crazy, and I'm drinking lots of Chamomile. It's so odd that I have no other cold symptoms-- just this cough that will not go away. I'm supposed to go climbing with Bridget on this Friday. I'd been meaning to go to the gym for a bit this week, to tone up my muscles a bit, but honestly, if I'm coughing this badly, there's no way I'll be able to go. Bridge, I'll let you know tomorrow, but even if I can't go do anything too physical, could we still do dinner or something? I want to meet up, but I can't see my climbing like this being remotely safe unless I'm significantly better by Friday.

I have a fairly freaksome French exam in two hours-- it's on 17th century lit, including Corneille, Racine, Mme. de Sevigny, Moliere. We're covering themes, forms, la Préciosité, the Jesuits and the Jansenists. I am so not prepared yet, and I need to go study.

There is good news on my computer, though. Chris hooked up my harddrive to the interim computer as basically a secondary "slave" HD, and I should have a working computer soon. The catch? Well, the computer's password protected from the time Mike used, it and he doesn't exactly remember his password. I swear, things are never easy. So he's going to try to figure it out before I see if there's a passcode wiper that will fix the problem. I'll install Norton to the main HD, and voila-- I'll be back in business.

*huggles* Coughing sucks a lot. Have you tried adding lemon and honey to your tea? When I had pneumonia, I hacked my throat apart from coughing and tea with honey and lemon was rather soothing. I hope you get better soon and best of luck on your French exam <3

Strangely enough I really like 17th Century French Drama! :) The exam does sound intense though!

Hope you feel better doll. xx

Depending how geeky you feel, pop the case off the computer and remove the BIOS battery for a ten-count, replace it and restart the machine. It should zap the password, but I'm not sure if it'll zap your BIOS settings too....some older boxes do that.

Hope you feel better though. Never knew you were into climbing -- I want to try that sometime myself, actually. Done the rapelling DOWN plenty of times, but never the other way.

RIIIIIIIIII COLAAAAAAAAA.....

Those are the BEST sore throat drops I've found. Well, the best that don't taste like complete ASS, anyways.

If the password is in the BIOS, there should be a jumper on the motherboard to clear it (clear the password, not the BIOS). If the password is in the OS, let me know which version of Windows and I'll help you get around it.

I'm not 100% sure, but considering it comes up after WinXP Professional loads, I'd say it's in the OS.

Ahhh ok. Then this is what you do:

Right before the WinXP logo comes on the screen, hit F8, which should make a text menu come up. Select Safe Mode. Then, a login screen should appear with a couple different account names. Pick Administrator, there usually isn't a password. After Amdinistrator logs in, go to Start --> Control Panel --> User Accounts. Left-click whichever account you want to remove the password on (probably not Administrator nor Guest). A list should appear, and one of the items on said list would be "Remove Password". And voila! Restart the computer and it shouldn't ask you for your password anymore.

If you have any problems, gimmie a call anytime after 8pm your time. 503-680-3693

I hate those bizarre waking dreams. I call them feaver dreams. I've gotten them when I've had a really bad sinus headache. They are very busy and I'm doing stupid stuff like endlessly rearranging boxes or rearranging something and get no rest.

Would you like some Reiki?

I didn't know you could do Reiki at a distance. Awesome.

Yeah, once you get to second level. And since I'm a master level is several different Reiki styles, it should be no problem. You will feel much better Friday. Guaranteed.

Now look at the cute kitten in my icon...

Well, I feel a bit better (I'm starting to get some phlegm out, which is better than dry hacking). Also, I had crazy dreams last night with Hindu dancing and people painted with blue mud. Odd.

ZINC cough drops...I use cold-eeze (though they may leave an after taste)!! Although you can just take the pill versions too. Extra Zinc doubled with extra Vit. C really helps with controlling illnesses, ESPECIALLY if you get to the vitamins as SOON as you feel the funk coming on. Trust me on this, this is the girl who you could set the calendar by with getting sick every fall (plus loads during the winter).

Dinner would be fine if you don't want to climb. Do you still want to go swing dancing, or would you rather postpone that too? Call me before 3:00 tomorrow (Friday), I'll email you my cell # again.

Yes Reiki works over a distance. So does Healing Touch (for people or animals).
