I went to bed at 1am. I actually fell asleep close to four. I kept having bizarre waking dreams, punctuated by harsh coughing fits. My throat is so sore right now. I'm popping Ricola like crazy, and I'm drinking lots of Chamomile. It's so odd that I have no other cold symptoms-- just this cough that will not go away. I'm supposed to go climbing with Bridget on this Friday. I'd been meaning to go to the gym for a bit this week, to tone up my muscles a bit, but honestly, if I'm coughing this badly, there's no way I'll be able to go. Bridge, I'll let you know tomorrow, but even if I can't go do anything too physical, could we still do dinner or something? I want to meet up, but I can't see my climbing like this being remotely safe unless I'm significantly better by Friday.
I have a fairly freaksome French exam in two hours-- it's on 17th century lit, including Corneille, Racine, Mme. de Sevigny, Moliere. We're covering themes, forms, la Préciosité, the Jesuits and the Jansenists. I am so not prepared yet, and I need to go study.
There is good news on my computer, though. Chris hooked up my harddrive to the interim computer as basically a secondary "slave" HD, and I should have a working computer soon. The catch? Well, the computer's password protected from the time Mike used, it and he doesn't exactly remember his password. I swear, things are never easy. So he's going to try to figure it out before I see if there's a passcode wiper that will fix the problem. I'll install Norton to the main HD, and voila-- I'll be back in business.

Date: 2004-11-17 02:20 pm (UTC)Those are the BEST sore throat drops I've found. Well, the best that don't taste like complete ASS, anyways.
If the password is in the BIOS, there should be a jumper on the motherboard to clear it (clear the password, not the BIOS). If the password is in the OS, let me know which version of Windows and I'll help you get around it.

Date: 2004-11-18 01:31 am (UTC)Right before the WinXP logo comes on the screen, hit F8, which should make a text menu come up. Select Safe Mode. Then, a login screen should appear with a couple different account names. Pick Administrator, there usually isn't a password. After Amdinistrator logs in, go to Start --> Control Panel --> User Accounts. Left-click whichever account you want to remove the password on (probably not Administrator nor Guest). A list should appear, and one of the items on said list would be "Remove Password". And voila! Restart the computer and it shouldn't ask you for your password anymore.
If you have any problems, gimmie a call anytime after 8pm your time. 503-680-3693

Date: 2004-11-18 07:18 pm (UTC)Dinner would be fine if you don't want to climb. Do you still want to go swing dancing, or would you rather postpone that too? Call me before 3:00 tomorrow (Friday), I'll email you my cell # again.
Yes Reiki works over a distance. So does Healing Touch (for people or animals).
