Nov. 18th, 2004 01:15 pmSo I finally gave in and bought some cough syrup. Funny, as there was an episode of South Park on last night where all the kids overdosed on cough syrup and had hysterical hallucinations. I can't really tell if it's working or not, but my throat feels a bit less raw, which is good. My bag broke this morning, Kyle keeps cutting my hours, and overall, this has been one of the overall stressful weeks I can remember because I've got two presentations and a paper on the menu for the next 5 days.
Also? I think someone came into our apartment this morning. I heard a knock at about 10:15 am, but I was in bed and I wan't exactly clothed, so I rolled over. When I went downstairs half an hour later, our door was unlocked, the supply closet was open, and the light was on. Um. Nothing else looked disturbed, though. It was probably a stupid resident looking for toilet paper (which is right next to the door). Still, we've got to be more aware of locking the door and pulling it shut all the way.
On the minus side, I have a presentation to give in less than two hours and I can barely speak above a whisper. When I do, I kind of sound like a pre-pubescent boy. This does not bode well. Hopefully, Psyche will have mercy on my poor soul when I have to let the rest of my group members essentially speak for me because there's no way I'll be able to speak loud enough that my entire class will be able to hear me without straining.
I really feel bad for Heather, though. We share a wall, and I've been hacking all night long. Last night, I was up at 6am because I woke myself up coughing so hard that I could not breathe. Any good thoughts that you've got to spare would be appreciated.
On the plus side,
happy_buddha left a hysterical message on my machine while I was on duty last night. I was honestly perplexed. :)
Okay. Off I go. I have meetings until about 10:30 tonight. I cannot wait until Thanksgiving break. I need a vacation. My staff members wanted to have an 11:30 meeting tonight, and I told them exactly what they could suck because that's so not happening. Dear God, if you'd like for me to die, please just drop a piano on my head. Love, Christina.

Date: 2004-11-18 11:34 am (UTC)Um, I agree. Especially since the outside door to our building doesn't close all the way anymore. Ever. I don't know who keeps unlocking the door, but they should stop. Now.
Although, come to think of it, I may have unlocked the door last night to let Aster in. So that one could be me. But overall, yes. More aware of closing door and locking it would be good. :P
Also, if you die by piano-to-the-head, I may have to laugh at you, possibly barring me from your funeral.

What with the demonstrated effect of the hemisphere thing, I'd probably end up killing you. Or at best, giving you a horrible withering disease...
