Nov. 21st, 2004 06:43 pmI'm still sick, but I'm getting better. Thank you to all of you who sent energy & well wishes. My voice doesn't quite yet sound like my own, but most of the day, I'm okay. It's the nights that have been killing me-- I usually don't fall into a sound, uninterrupted sleep until about 6am because I keep waking myself up coughing. Last night, I actually went downstairs to sleep on the couch at about 4am because I was coughing so loudly that I was afraid I'd keep everyone else in my apartment awake.
In other good news, I have a working computer! The dual hard drive idea works splendidly. I have Photoshop back! But sadly, I don't have the internet up and running yet, and I'm going to leave that until next Monday when I come back from Thanksgiving break. With all of the work I have to do before Tuesday evening, I don't want to bug Chris to come help-- it's a hectic time for all of us.
In not-so-good news, BPAL didn't receive the check for the second half of my Yule order, which I sent on Nov. 4th. It's been over two weeks-- I'm inclined to believe it's lost. The order was for Ice Queen, Midwinter's-Eve, Skadi, and Queen of Diamonds-- all LE scents that have since been pulled, and scents that I have promised decants of to others. I'm waiting to hear back from customer service wether or not if I paypalled them the money, they'd still fill the order, since it doesn't matter to me wether or not they'll be delivered by Yule. Considering their customer service person just left, I'm a bit worried that I won't have this resolved before I leave on Tuesday. Cross your fingers for me. I got a Click-N-Ship for my 10/8 order, though, and if luck is with me, it will get here before I leave.
I had a good weekend-- I went out to dinner with Bridget, and we made raincheck plans for climbing and swing dancing. Then, I got a phonecall from New Zealand and had a good time getting to know someone who will potentially be a good friend. Today was the RA Thanksgiving banquet, and what began as brownie chocolate layer cake became dark chocolate mudpie with a caramel drizzle. If I hadn't had to leave early, I'd have taken the rest with me, it was so good and rich.
Also? Having two seperate bank accounts is hard. I've been having a hard time remembering what got charged to what, and the online banking stuff doesn't help because BBandT is over a week out. Bank of America is better, but I still have a few weekend transactions that have not yet posted. I'll check it back tomorrow, but I think I need to start carrying around a balance book, because otherwise, I'll go mad.
