Madrigal Dinner
Dec. 11th, 2004 05:47 pm
Taken last night at the madrigal dinner-- that's
It went well, without a whole lot of hitching-- except for the felt crest that fell on my head in the middle of the song and Lisa randomly adding lines to skits from other skits. The sound in the forum was better than expected, the food was pretty good, I got nice flowers from Mike's mom, and the audience was a warm one. Plus? I sold 1/4 of the tickets. Go me.

The problem is that when you force a smile, it only touches the eyes for a brief instant, then rapidly fades. And it's rare for the camera to catch that flare of life in the eyes; instead, the photo usually shows a smile on the lips, but not in the eyes.
And a dead smile is never a pretty smile :(
It's why I don't bother smiling for photographs - any photo of me smiling is guaranteed to be candid, 'cos you won't find me posing a smile for a camera :)
