Feeling a little bit better-- the medicine is starting to kick in. Unfortunately, one of the side effects is drowsiness, and also it makes things woozy. It's not unlike the first stages of drunkenness.

So far, it's been a slow day. I was saddened to see that my favorite pair of amber earrings broke over the weekend- the post snapped right above the point where it was welded to the backing. I'm going to see if I can't fix it with a fresh earring post and some rubber cement, since an eBay search did not yield the same pair. It's funny, no matter what I do, I almost always end up with only one earring. I need an earring tree.

Anyway, this pair was the closest I could find to what I was looking for, although the design is not exact. The design I'm looking for is one simply curving leaf holding up the rest of the earring. This is the matching bracelet, which also comes in green amber. (As a side note, *drool*.)

ETA:: While still not exact, these are very close. Woo. If I can't fix my pair, I'll order these.

I did find some neat earrings in the looking, though.

The National Wildlife Catalogue yielded some beautiful Autumn-themed earrings, like this leaf-inspired pair and this salamander-inspired pair. I will most likely pick up the latter pair, because they're gorgeous.

EBay yielded these light blue pair, as well as this tri-color pair. This pair is really unique, as is this vine-inspired pair. This cognac/baltic amber combo was among my favorites.

Other likes: when I look at this blue amber piece I question why I don't wear bracelets. This ear vine is so cool. Also, I really like twirly earrings.

Hmm. I think I'll work on getting a decent wardrobe for interviewing, and then choose a few accent pieces. Still, it's nice to window shop.

If it's metal-to-metal, it wouldn't be terribly hard to do a quick soldering job on it, if you can get your hands on a soldering iron and the proper solder (silver solder, gold solder, whatever). It's easy to pick up on using an oxy-aceteline torch, so with the iron it's probably a snap. That would hold a lot better than rubber cement.

I didn't really expect you to have one just lying around, mind you. For all I know, though, there could be someone you know down there with one who would lend it to you or spend the minute it would take to lay down a solder point for you. If you starting pulling stuff like that out of your heinie, as it were, I'd be a little worried.

I think the leaf inspired pair (http://catalog.nwf.org/431207.html) are lovely. I may get myself a pair. :)
