I have spent the bulk of the evening being totally unproductive and stalking the Melodia Designs eBay store. They're uploading new and post-Tribal Fest goodies. Those medium 34" black sashes will be mine. *is determined*
In other stupid news, I think my favorite pair of jeans have given up the ghost. I've had 'em since high school, and the zipper will no longer stay up. Since I've not really worn jeans since college, they were my last pair (that fit, anyway-- my size 8's fall right off). I looooove Lucky brand jeans (mostly 'cause when you unzip 'em, the fly says "Lucky You," and I find that illicitly hilarious). But I'm wondering if the VS jeans that lift your tush up would be tacky or wonderful. Hmm. Deep thoughts.

Date: 2007-06-05 03:37 am (UTC)One thing you could try (where I got my first pair for $40) is to try somewhere like Filene's basement where they get in higher end stuff for relatively cheap. Or, if you know what size/fit you like, you can get a pair on ebay for $40-$60.
I've never tried the VS jeans, but I think that lucky brand would probably hold up better... and I don't know if you need the ass lift function particularily. When I think of you, I usually don't think saggy tush :-p

Date: 2007-06-05 09:22 am (UTC)For metal zippers that won't stay up, use graphite, which is just a pencil tip! Take the pencil and rub it up and down over the teeth of the zipper. This should help the zipper stay up.
or
Basically, the zipper pull has become loose over the teeth and is sliding down over the teeth too easily. There's nothing wrong with the teeth, it's all with the zipper pull.
Take a clamping tool (pliers work well) and apply it to one side of the zipper pull, while the zipper is open (on either side of the pull tab) that actually goes over the teeth and clamp down a little bit. Then do the same to the other side. It doesn't really take a lot of pressure. Then test. If it holds better, then you are done. If it doesn't hold, apply a little bit more pressure. Don't do too much or you'll never get the pull to zip and unzip. Then you're screwed.
