I'm at the boy's, decompressing from Bellypalooza while he geeks out a bit. Searching for just the right bits for commissions, and otherwise working-in-my-'spare'-time. I've been noticing that my sixth sense has been a bit more active than usual of late; I'll discuss other instances in another entry, but today was a good example. I was looking over my list of purchased supplies that have not yet been received when I saw that I'd bought 25 nickel-free Tibetan silver beads that look sort of Celtic. And I was all, "why did I buy those? I don't have any projects in mind for those." Hell, I didn't even remember buying them-- did I do it in my sleep? Well, cue a commission request this morning for which they are perfect. And then I laughed. And then I bought expensive Aquamarine.

Bellypalooza was okay. I appreciated Artemis's vast and obvious knowledge about Turkish Romany dance vs. Turkish Oriental dance, how the dance differs from region to region, and how she fuses the two. She was an entertaining instructor and I would probably get more out of a more sustained, in-depth class with her. Lisa Z's hip hop fusion class made me sweat. Holy crap, 10 minute shimmy aerobic warmup + hip hop warmup, then three combos. Not sure any of the combos are really useable for me, as there was a 75/25 hip hop to tribal ratio going on and all of it completely broke the "tribal table" posture rule I've been working so hard at. But it was definitely fun, even if I felt like that chick in "Save The Last Dance" a whole lot. Stopped in with some of my favorite vendors. Got a pretty jaipur-print bandhini from the Gypsy's Monkey girls; in the end, eggplant won out over bright yellow, though I will one day have a red jaipur skirt / yellowish orange bandhini combo, dammit. I need more bright colors! Also picked up two small beaded medallions to attach to a mirrored belt base, and one larger one to play with ammetrically (and see if I can't find a match eventually).

Okay. Stitching time. Then drinking a big bottle of gewurtstraminer while the boy and I relax with a movie and the last of Shark Week.

Fun stuff! I somehow missed all of Shark Week, I fail. How was it?

Heather and CHristine both ended up falling out of the tribal hip hop class. I wish I'd known you were in it. I would have stuck around to actually meet you. :) I was sitting int he back of the class "auditing" for a little while. I'd already done four other workshops and there was no way that I was going to be able to do hers as well. I am in quite a bit of pain at this moment actually. ;)

You probably saw me, then. I was to the front right of the class, wearing black basics and a hot pink rosehips skirt.

Did you go to One World for a bite after the workshops? Between the workshops and the show.

Yep! I read for a bit, then waited for my boyfriend. :)

And again I say I wish I had known that was you. :) We were the loud bunch in the corner. I was the one laying down as I had the killer of a caffeine withdrawl and hunger headache kicking me in the butt. :)
I mentioned to Heather that you were in Lisa's tribal class, and she was like, wait wasn't she the other dancer that was in One World? I thought she looked familiar. Heather put together the program, so she has been looking at your picture quite a bit. :)
