-- Woke up at 10:30 after a night of tossing and turning. I finally fell asleep around 5am when I put on Buffy with the sound so low it was nearly mute.

-- Had a breakfast of a raisin scone and two eggs.

-- Bought supplies: gorgeous violet chalcedony, aurora borealis amethyst, and some odds and ends for the January update (which will include some Valentine's stuff).

-- Opened my very modest Sephora order-- honestly, I'm not in love with Stila's Marrakesh quad just looking at it... it's not as saturated as the summer palette or the blue orchid palette and I may return it. Especially as [livejournal.com profile] maewitch found my coveted blue orchid palette for an obscenely cheap price.

-- Contemplated dyeing my hair red again. I've been really digging this golden strawberry blonde thing I've been doing for awhile, but I was looking at Doe Deere's makeup blog and got hair envy.

-- Worked on custom orders for six hours.

-- Watched the BBC's Merlin, which [livejournal.com profile] verav linked to. Hey, it has Anthony Stewart Head in it--- I was practically honor bound. It's okay-- sort of in the same vein as Robin Hood. Enjoyable, family-oriented, and more absurdly anachronistic than a financially-challenged Renaissance Festival.

-- Googlechatted with my boyfriend while he worked late. I owe him a good shoulder rub tomorrow. Actually, as we're housesitting this weekend, I'm planning a big bubblebath/massage/seduction extravaganza. Looking forward to it.

-- Took a quick break for a mouthful of leftover spaghetti.

-- Watched Gossip Girl. I know, I know. But with BSG and Lost on hiatus, a girl gets desperate. Is it January yet?

-- Compiled orders. Guys, I have gone through a case of gift boxes in under two months. Anyhow, I'll be packing up orders tonight so all shop orders plus Winter's Branch custom orders can be mailed tomorrow. I still need to get the right USB for my printer, so I have to fill out tons of PO forms-- if you ordered, you probably won't get a click and ship, but I will be getting delivery confirmation on all domestic orders.

-- And now, I shower and treat myself to a little dessert.

ETA: Finally got to bed at 4am. PLONK.

I'll see what I can do about getting you a copy of Repo: The Genetic Opera when it comes out on DVD.

The Hilton effect might negate the Head effect.

Nah, she totally makes fun of herself in the movie. I was hesitant when I first heard she was in the movie as well, but she plays a woman addicted to plastic surgery and her face actually falls off at one point.

I started watching XOXO about halfway through S1 (in rerun) and instantly became addicted. It's the only thing that makes Monday's bearable! I felt less shame once I started reading TWOP recaps because Jacob overanalyses each ep even more than I do. It's not Buffy, but the closest-sub I've found since AtS went off the air. :D

I admit to kind of loving Gossip Girl. It's just...the pretty and the hair and Chuck/Blair and sometimes I need some relatively empty fluff. :)

I keep wanting to like Chuck/Blair, but then I remember that he attempted date rape twice in one episode.

Yeah, I almost stopped watching because of that - I knew we were supposed to be interested in him anyway, even at the time, and it made me angry. But I have...rationalized it, maybe, because I think they actually got a lot of negative feedback and shifted gears almost immediately afterward. Suddenly he was a playboy or what-have-you because women actually chose to sleep with him, and then, you know, he grew a soul over time.

It still bothers me that anyone thought it was a good idea to put two date rape scenes that seemed like they were set up to be excusable in the first or second episode of a show aimed at teens, particularly - but I guess I'm also writing it off, to a degree, as an early mistake.

I'd love to see them actually dig that up and hold it up to the light. I'd love to see Chuck tortured about it. I don't think that's going to happen, but it'd be nice to see the actual processing of one's sins that should go with gaining a soul (yes, I am thinking of Spike here, also).

I've been watching Merlin too and crack up at "Giles" as Uther Pendragon. I find the different take on Guinevere and Morgana interesting.

The Urban Decay Book of Shadows (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P222106&categoryId=B70") is a worthy purchase, if you are later in the market for an alternative. Seriously one of the best makeup purchases ever.

16 shadows, 2 brushes, and a travel sized primer potion. The way I figured when I bought it, I like all of the colors, and individually all of them (w/o brushes or primer)would cost $256 and for this to NOT be a huge savings, it would have to contain LESS than 1/5 of a regular sized Urban Decay eyeshadow tin.

I love UD, but their glittery stuff flakes all over me no matter if I use UDPP or not, and if I wet the brush or not. I only tend to wear it for going out occasions, so I bought Stila for everyday. But yeah, I was eyeing that-- it is so pretty!
