-- Olivebean, you and me need to talk, young lady. You keep me awake way, way too much, pawing at my door and crying your mournful cry. I get that I'm Your Person, and my sole purpose in life is to provide a safe and willing lap upon which you may nap. But I need to sleep, honestly. A sleep that does not involve you walking all over my face and licking me in that adorable, yet slightly ADD-esque way that you have. Anyway, let me sleep, or I become the cranky momma who cusses too much. Also, stop being so damn jealous of my laptop.
-- Nox, the walls are not going to answer you, no matter how many times you "Hewwwwooooooo?" them.
-- Ants. So. Yes. With the weather warming, it's our first spring in the apartment, and there is an anthill right out back. Those ants invaded the kitchen full force on Saturday. I can't seem to find their trail, but I went on the offensive, cleaning out the cabinet that was drawing them (cereal, natch) and putting one ant bait thing in thee where the cats can't get to it. I swabbed down the sinks with a lemon and orange EO wash, which has been really helpful in getting rid of the scent trail they leave behind, so mostly it's been scout ants since then, not a full infestation. Salt did pretty much NADA. But I'm still seeing a few ants every time I go into the kitchen, and it is DRIVING ME BONKERS. I also poured a couple of pots of boiling water directly into the anthill, so hopefully that will help some, too. DIE, LITTLE BASTARDS.
-- PO run today. Getting all of last week's orders out.
-- I've been watching this show on Netflix called Jeremiah. Circa 2002, post-apocalyptic drama starring Luke Perry & Malcolm Jamal Warner. In any case, it is surprisingly good! Although to be honest, I would be way happier if it were called Hijinks and Tomfoolery with Kurdy, Theo, and Occasionally Mr. Smith. Because Jeremiah isn't really so much a rounded character on his own so much as he is an archetype or a trope. Not hating on Luke Perry; the character just isn't given much in terms of emotional maturation. He's just the Stoic Hero Guy. Kurdy, on the other hand, broke out of the "hey, I am not your black sidekick guy!" mold fairly early on, and has a complicated but very active inner life of his own which is infinitely more interesting than Jeremiah's. And Theo is probably one of the most amusing villains I've seen on the TV screen. She's sort of Spike-esque, minus the neutering. So, the show, it is pretty okay for a show that came out in the early 2000's. (Also: hello Vancouver acting pool and a boatload of BSG alums!)
-- Next up, Stargate: Universe, which
zenmaster sent me.
