Ground and Center
May. 13th, 2004 07:12 pmToday was a very stressful day, but it definitely had its good points.
( Cut for the stressed part. )
I was almost about to pray to God for a swift and painless death. One thing kept going through my mind-- I couldn't wait to get outside and sit on the grass, leaning up against a thick, comforting tree. I got to do that at about 6:15, but at 6:30, I had to check out a resident.
When I was done, I did stop by my mailbox. Not only did I get Sati in the mail from my Monday order, but
antigone921 sent me a three-volume set of Scottish music. Giu! You rock my world. I swear to you that I will send you something special over the summer.
Plus? I got word from my supervisor that I'll be living in the brand new apartments, the North Village (aka, mini-Ikea) over the summer. I'll have disabled and deaf grad students living with me. I get to learn some sign language.
And then, shower. If there is one thing I refuse to skimp on, it's bath products. They're my stress-busting indulgence. Herbal Essences fruit conditioner can completely change my mood. And Bath&BodyWorks makes the perfect soap: Cool Citrus Basil. It's so lightly scented, but it just washes away the tension. I need to get some more sandalwood rose sugar scrub. It smells so exotic yet very earthy. It smells like desert flowers. Not at all girlie or overpoweringly floral. It's very seductively feminine. It's twenty bucks a pop though, so I'll wait on it until next month.
Okay. Back out the door. I'm having a "loud-hour luau" with my staff and residence. Time to grill.
