Today was a very stressful day, but it definitely had its good points.

I woke up rather stressed, at 7am. After only four hours of sleep. I tossed, turned, and tossed some more until I forced myself back to sleep. I got up at 10am and immediately got to work on theory homework in the living room, my stuff all sprawled out. It took about three hours to do, all in all. It was a composition with a required amount of altered chords, non-chord tones and harmonic progression that had to be half circle-of-fifths, half not. All in clunky quarter notes. Real music is not all in quarter notes. But I digress.

About 15 minutes before my exam, I realized that I hadn't gotten athletic equiptment for my program tonight. I was still in my pjs, my hair sticking out like a bad boxing promoter. I'd been a bad girl and slept in my makeup, so I had racoon eyes. I turned into the girl-tornado, and I did, by the grace of God, get to my exam on time, but I still had to re-copy my composition, as it was smudged by too many eraser marks.

The test took the full alotted three hours. My eyes had begun to seriously strain at the small text to the point where I didn't even notice when the clef of one of the analysation examples changed from treble to bass, and I lost 10 minutes trying to analyze a particularly funky chord until I realized my mistake. A tension headache gripped my skull and tightened up all my neck muscles. My fingers felt about to fall off. Afterwards, I had to recopy my damn composition and go straight to an elections meeting for one of my honors groups I was out of the house almost all day.

I was almost about to pray to God for a swift and painless death. One thing kept going through my mind-- I couldn't wait to get outside and sit on the grass, leaning up against a thick, comforting tree. I got to do that at about 6:15, but at 6:30, I had to check out a resident.

When I was done, I did stop by my mailbox. Not only did I get Sati in the mail from my Monday order, but [livejournal.com profile] antigone921 sent me a three-volume set of Scottish music. Giu! You rock my world. I swear to you that I will send you something special over the summer.

Plus? I got word from my supervisor that I'll be living in the brand new apartments, the North Village (aka, mini-Ikea) over the summer. I'll have disabled and deaf grad students living with me. I get to learn some sign language.

And then, shower. If there is one thing I refuse to skimp on, it's bath products. They're my stress-busting indulgence. Herbal Essences fruit conditioner can completely change my mood. And Bath&BodyWorks makes the perfect soap: Cool Citrus Basil. It's so lightly scented, but it just washes away the tension. I need to get some more sandalwood rose sugar scrub. It smells so exotic yet very earthy. It smells like desert flowers. Not at all girlie or overpoweringly floral. It's very seductively feminine. It's twenty bucks a pop though, so I'll wait on it until next month.

Okay. Back out the door. I'm having a "loud-hour luau" with my staff and residence. Time to grill.

Is the sandalwood rose sugar scrub also from Bath & Body Works? I need to get that -- it sounds heavenly.

Im sorry you had a stressful day, but at least it all worked out.

I love H20's seasalt scrub thingy, it doesn't smell so good, feels oily and rough on my skin, but when it washes off my skin feels like a baby's butt...without the diaper rash.

That reminds me... B&BW just started to make a new line of elemental products. They have a toner called "salt." When you put it on your skin, it smells like the sun has dried up ocean saltwater on your skin. Mmmm.

Oh that just sounds so yummy. My bathroom is littered with bath and body products, drives my fiance nuts...but oh well, a girl needs these things.
