Work finished, now play!
Apr. 7th, 2009 05:47 pmThe Great Makeup Experiment, Days 3 and 4:
Day 3: Sparkling Neutrals. Aromaleigh eyeshadow in Gilt, Stila eyeshadow in Sun and Venus. Black liquid liner (rather hastily applied), and black mascara. Nothing else. Literally. I was fresh from the shower and still in my birthday suit.

Day 4: Purple Haze. Aromaleigh eyeshadow in Lavande and Penelope, Urban Decay eyeshadow in Last Call. The usual black eyeliner/mascara. Sorry, no full face, as I was running very very late! Instead, I give you a bonus shot of Jason's new haircut.

Your skin is absolutely luminous in the full-face day 3 picture. WOW. You need to take more pictures fresh out of the shower more often!
Erm, you know what i mean.

Date: 2009-04-08 01:28 pm (UTC)You've got really clear, wide-open eyes that have a very clear color to them. You don't need a heavy liner to make them stand out. It works anyway, but as long as you're experimenting I'll add my vote for the "try something new" crowd.
And I'll add as a theatre-makeup person with blond hair that especially with the light eyebrows you really should try a medium brown eyeliner, and wether you use liquid or pencil, stick with the format you're comfortable with so you're not messing with a new application technique. Ditto for the mascara. You're using thin lines and as light a touch as possible, but I'm guessing a brown would enhance some of your other natural colors, especially if you go without a base.

Date: 2009-04-08 02:28 pm (UTC)I like experimenting with different colours for liners. Brown is a good staple for day time if you feel black is too harsh for that particular morning, but navy blue and plum really make the whites of your eyes sparkle and a dark hunter green can look lovely, too. I've been loving a very dark gold/black from Smashbox called "on Trend".
Very pretty colour combinations - really make your eye colour pop.
